Rachael lives in historic downtown Troy, New York with her family. She has had many adventures including being a professional snowmobile racer, and prior to becoming a nurse, she was a fine dining server. She is currently studying for her sommelier certification. She has held multiple board and executive committee positions throughout her academic career. More recently, she has held positions on her critical care nursing unit self-governance committees. She is also an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, working toward her FACHE board certification, and an active member of the American Public Health Academy. Research and interdisciplinary collaboration are two of her favorite fields to explore. Sharing her own experience, helping new nurses see how important their transferable skills are, demonstrating the wide application for nursing into other industries, and fostering communication are some topics she enjoys writing about.
