TPA Hearing Trust offers scholarships and financial aid to those who suffer deafness or hearing impairment; who will benefit from medical, mechanical, specialized treatment or specialized education and who are unable to provide the funds therefore themselves. Completed applications must be submitted to the Trust by the end of each quarter: March 31st, June 30th, September 30th, and December 31st. Selection of recipients and amount of aid awarded is decided upon by the majority of the Trustees, and special consideration is given to individuals with the greatest need.Read more

Essay contest for college students with disabilities who are enrolled and matriculated as full-time or student.in a two- or four-year accredited college or university. Students who are part-time are welcome also as long as their part-time status is because of their disability and not because of financial restraints. The essay must not exceed 1000 words. $1000 scholarship for men and women with Hemophilia. Mark Coats (1956-1963) was just a young child when he passed from hemophilia-related issues. Mark was born in an entirely different era of bleeding disorders treatment and was not able to live a near-normal life as most people with hemophilia do today. With his smiling eyes and sweet grin, we are reminded that every child deserves a chance to lead a full and happy life. We look to Mark as a reminder of what living with a bleeding disorder was like not that long ago and how blessed we are to have the treatments and medical advances we have today.Read more

Mike Hylton (1945-1998) A man of great character and steadiness, Mike faced some of the most physically daunting and mortal challenges that people with severe hemophilia could encounter. During the blood crisis of the 1980s, Mike met the challenges with class and a concern for others not only in the bleeding disorder community, but also those affected with HIV. He was a thoughtful, analytical and spiritual individual – patient and tolerant of others, but certainly willing and capable to express his opinions and beliefs. While some felt it was more important to speak, he knew that it was more effective to listen. Mike found great comfort in his faith and family.Read more

$1000 scholarship for women with hemophilia or von Willebrand Disease. Millie Gonzalez (1953-2001) was a devoted wife and mother as well as a pioneer dedicated to advocacy. Millie promoted awareness of the unique struggles faced by women with a bleeding disorder and those caring for an individual affected by a bleeding disorder. She was married to Papo Gonzalez, a person with hemophilia and well known advocate in his own right, who passed prior to Millie. She was a tireless advocate not only for women, but also for people of Hispanic heritage affected with bleeding disorders. Although loving, compassionate and gentle, Millie had the heart of a tiger and fought each day for her own survival while inspiring others to achieve and succeed.Read more

Born with severe hemophilia when treatment for people with bleeding disorders was nonexistent predisposed Ron, as with many of his generation, to a lifetime of pain, struggle for better care, and the fight against stigma and prejudice. Ron endured challenges and faced each with grace and an air of, “I can handle that, no problem.” He exemplified the meaning of compassion towards others and practiced more than preached what it meant to be an advocate. Health Products For You scholarship program aims to encourage and support undergraduate, and graduate students who suffer from any disability. The Pearson award is funded by Pearson Education and is given to a student who plans a career in education. For Pearson, learning is a never-ending road of discovery. The American Council of the Blind (ACB) and the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) have now partnered together to offer educational scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $7,500 for those attending a technical college or as an entering freshman, undergraduate or a graduate student. This program awards students with scholarships to help with post-secondary education financial needs such as tuition, fees, room and board and other additional costs associated with adaptive technology. The Anne Lowe Scholarship is awarded to college students and is based on academic achievement, citizenship which is supported through reference letters, and verification of blindness. The scholarship is distributed in two parts during the school year. Additional requirements include three letters of recommendation.
